Southwestern’s Maintenance Division has a long history of supporting Southwestern’s mission by ensuring that transmission lines, transformer stations, communications sites and rights-of-way remain in good condition to provide electricity to Southwestern’s wholesale customers and the millions of end users it serves.
While the department’s leadership may have changed recently with the retirement in January 2022 of Kenny Broadway, a Southwest employee of over 40 years and former department manager, the focus remains the same.
“Our daily mission is to support Southwestern’s mission by ensuring the transmission system is in optimal operating condition to provide electricity to our customers,” said Ryan Hogue, who replaced Broadway as division director in January 2022. “I am excited for the hardworking crew members who help support this effort.”
Hogg, who has been with Southwestern for 17 years, oversees maintenance crews based at Southwestern field offices in Gore, Okla.; Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Springfield, Mo. Hogg says he always knew he wanted to work in electricity, and before coming to Southwestern, he worked as a commercial/industrial electrician. At Southwestern, he has worked as an electrical mechanic, substation electrician, deputy regional maintenance manager, and regional maintenance manager.
As the manager of the three maintenance units, Hogg is supported in his efforts by the regional maintenance managers located at each site.
