CHARLESTON, SC – Licensed electrician Cameron Rayburn has announced the official opening of his new company, Alchemy Elevator, headquartered in Charleston, serving North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia with a variety of new elevator installation options and existing elevator repair services.
The commercial product line includes hydraulic and conventional counterweight lifts, vertical platform lifts, and limited use and limited application (LULA) lifts. On the residential side, they specialize in home elevators, stair lifts, sometimes called stair chairs, and mini-lifts.
Rayburn, a licensed electrician in North Carolina, has been installing, repairing and servicing elevators for seven years.
The Wilmington, N.C., native began doing residential field work as an electrician’s apprentice, wiring his former employer’s entire home.
After working for a former elevator company in Wilmington, North Carolina, for three years, he was transferred to the Charleston area where he became the company’s service manager.
Over the past year, Raybourne obtained a specialty license for the elevator industry and started Alchemy Elevator. Alchemy will provide sales and service to the commercial market with a focus on the booming residential real estate and construction market throughout the Southeast.
“With the exception of a couple of national elevator companies like Otis and Shindler that cater to a very different commercial market, there are only about 10 elevator companies in South Carolina and a little more than that in North Carolina,” Rayburn said. “Most of these companies are backlogged, sometimes for months.
“We will support these delays and specialize in fast, experienced, high-quality installations. While installation of lifts from other companies can often take weeks to install, if the building is ready, we can install our lifts within two days.
Chris Dudlick, co-founder of Alchemy Elevator, reinforces Raybourne’s importance in customer service.
“Thanks to Cam and my experience, and the appointment of Brett Speedy as Vice President of Sales, personalized customer service extends the satisfaction of builders and architects,” he said. “We will make it easier for them and their customers to provide high-quality installation for their projects.”
Brett Speedy is a veteran elevator installer with years of experience consulting with homeowners, builders, contractors and architects on installation logistics. It helps them decide what type of lift they need and what needs to be done to secure it.
“My contacts in the construction world allowed me to facilitate the application that best suited their needs and expectations,” Speedy said. “We make sure everything is set up properly for the homeowner and educate them on how to operate the new elevator.
“Right now, as a new company, service is front and center,” he said.
