Electrical cables in eco-friendly boxes

Top Cable’s sustainable strategic plan is reflected in the packaging of its products. Some of the cables from the company’s wide range are packaged using eco-friendly boxes. This approach helps reduce environmental impact while simplifying the storage of electrical cables due to the convenience of recyclable boxes.

sustainable production

Top Cable’s commitment to the environment is commendable in many aspects of its production chain. On the one hand, there is the use of PEFC™ certified wooden drums. In addition, the company’s commitment can be highlighted by the implementation of self-consumption energy supplies at its sites, which are achieved by installing photovoltaic panels. However, it does not stop there. Some of the cables produced at Top Cable are distributed in environmentally friendly boxes made of recyclable cardboard.

Top Cable Eco Friendly Boxes

Top Cable is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of its cable packaging. For this reason, smaller cable sections such as Toxfree® ES05Z1-K / H07Z1-K, Topflex® H07V-K and Toxfree® Outdoor H07V-K Cu/sn (supplied in 100 or 200 meter boxes) are packaged in these environmentally friendly boxes made from 100% recyclable and biodegradable cardboard.

The main features of these funds are as follows:

100% recyclable. Biodegradable. Less environmental impact. Easy cable access.

Recycled corrugated cardboard is as strong and durable as cardboard made from virgin wood pulp.

Eco-friendly funds and their benefits to the environment

In addition to the outstanding advantages, this production option offers many benefits to the environment. The most important of these are:

Corrugated cardboard is recyclable and biodegradable. Corrugated cardboard is biodegradable because it comes from renewable natural resources (trees) and completely decomposes within a maximum of one year. It biodegrades faster than other materials such as aluminium (10 years) or plastic (150 years), and is second only to organic waste. Corrugated cardboard is 100% recyclable. Top Cable cardboard boxes can be recycled up to 7 times. Less environmental impact.

Corrugated cardboard manufacturing has a lower environmental impact compared to other packaging materials such as plastic, glass or aluminium. Its manufacturing also reduces carbon dioxide emissions and oil consumption by up to 60% compared to producing packaging materials from other materials.

Corrugated cardboard, along with paper, is the easiest material to recycle. For every ton of paper recycled, 2 cubic metres of landfill space, 140 litres of oil, 50,000 litres of water are saved, and up to 900 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions are avoided into the atmosphere.

Advantages of Eco-Friendly Boxes for Electrical Cable Distributors

The benefits of eco-friendly boxes are not limited to the environment, they also provide advantages to distributors who are working to simplify their logistics operations:

Easier organization: Due to their size and shape, the boxes are easy to stack in stores, reducing the amount of storage space required. Cable sections: The boxes are available in a wide range of cable sections, each of which is color-coded, making it easy to locate the required cable at a glance. Custom colors: The boxes are color-coded to allow for immediate identification of the specific cable section. There are four pre-set colors: Red (1.5mm²), Blue (2.5mm²), Brown (4mm²), and Grey (6mm²). In addition to these sections, Top Cable also offers the option to customize the color of the boxes upon request. This option is provided to match the specific needs of each distributor.

Halogen free cables

Halogen-free cables for electrical panel connections in places accessible to the public are supplied in recyclable and environmentally friendly cardboard boxes. These cables are extremely slippery, halogen-free, flame-resistant and emit low levels of smoke and corrosive gases in the event of a fire. They are suitable for both public and private buildings and comply with the strictest regulations at national and international level, such as the Colombian RETIE or the European CPR.
