MG has made waves in the Australian electric car market by cutting the price of its popular MG ZS EV to just $34,990 for MY23 vehicles, making it the most affordable electric car on the market at the moment.
This pricing is expected to last until the end of August, and while it does, it will undercut the price of the GWM Ora, which starts at $35,990.
Alongside the MG ZS EV, the company has also cut prices on its trendy MG4 electric hatchback range, resulting in savings of up to $4,000 on the X-Power model.
Other models have also seen price cuts, making the already flagship electric hatchback even more attractive to buyers.
From August 1, the new prices excluding on-road costs for the two MG MY24 models in the electric vehicle lineup are as follows.

“MG has been leading the charge with accessible electric vehicles since the launch of the award-winning ZS EV and MG4 locally, and with nationwide discounted prices on some of our ranges across Australia, we maintain our leadership position in this area,” said Peter Chow, CEO of MG Australia, in a statement.
“MG is putting its customers first by ensuring that all road users have access to a wide range of affordable, zero-emission vehicles thanks to the special national pricing campaign.”
Furthermore, MG has set a new benchmark in Australia by offering a 10-year or 250,000km warranty across its entire range, an increase from the 7-year warranty the company previously offered on its vehicles.
Giles Belcher, Chief Commercial Officer at MG Australia, said the 10-year warranty across the electric, hybrid and petrol range is the best and strongest on the market.
“When it’s time for our customers to upgrade their cars, we want them to come to us first. We have a great range of great products on the market and more on the way, so we want people to try our products as soon as possible.”

With warranty and additional cover from August 2024, the MG ZS EV is Australia’s best value electric car, and its affordability will help many people get into electric for the first time.
