The Boring Company has completed the Las Vegas tunneling project, Prufrock-3.

The Boring Company may be Elon Musk’s most underrated venture today, but the startup appears to have hit some milestones recently. The Boring Company took to social media to point this out when it shared a video of its tunnel boring machine (TBM), Prufrock-3, completing a tunnel in Las Vegas.

According to The Boring Company, Prufrock-3 completed its first tunnel in Las Vegas just 12 weeks after completing the Cybertunnel at the Giga Texas complex. The Boring Company wrote in its post: “Breaking through Prufrock-3! 12 weeks after completing the Cybertunnel at Giga Texas, Prufrock-3 has completed its first tunnel in Las Vegas! Next launch of Prufrock-3 (after upgrading several systems to Prufrock-4 specifications) is scheduled for October 30.”

The drilling company hasn’t announced the length of the tunnel Prufrock-3 has completed, but the Las Vegas tunnel’s completion time is impressive. Since the Cybertunnel was completed at Giga Texas 12 weeks ago, Prufrock-3 had to be disassembled before it could be transported to Las Vegas. The tunnel boring machine also had to be reassembled before it could begin drilling in Sin City.

The Boring Company has big plans for its Prufrock tunnel boring machines. According to the startup on its official website, the Prufrock series of tunnel boring machines are designed to revolutionize underground construction projects with speed and automation. This is evident in the Prufrock series’ ability to “launch,” meaning it can be launched directly from the surface with minimal specialized equipment.

The Boring Company is aiming to achieve a drilling speed of more than a mile per week with Prufrock. The drilling startup appears to be working hard to achieve that goal, as evidenced by the next-generation Prufrock machine, dubbed Prufrock-4, at The Boring Company’s facility in Bastrop, Texas. According to The Boring Company, “Prufrock-4 is 308 feet long (about one football field), weighs 797,000 pounds (about 150 SUVs), and produces up to 4.7 million pounds of thrust (about 90% of Falcon Heavy’s liftoff thrust).”
