NVC Lighting, a leading lighting manufacturer, has strengthened its environmental credentials by collaborating with packaging solutions provider Springpack, saving costs and reducing plastic use in the process.
Since implementing Springpack’s Armor Wrap 12 months ago, the NVC Lighting team has achieved a projected cost saving of £4,000, saving 47kg of plastic compared to the previous packaging mechanics.
Armor Wrap is a high-performance, multi-layer pallet wrap that provides strong puncture resistance, can be stretched further than regular wrap and will increase load stability.
This partnership is another step in NVC Lighting’s ongoing attempts towards a more sustainable operation, with the company achieving carbon neutral status in 2022.
“Working with Springpack and using Armor Wrap has had a real positive impact on day-to-day operations in the warehouse,” said Chris Riley, Warehouse Manager at NVC Lighting.
“It is a reliable and reliable service, which helps us increase efficiency and save plastic.”
The company operates from purpose-built premises in Birmingham including offices, 90,000 sq ft of warehouse space and an assembly facility for bespoke products.
Switching to Springpack has also improved NVC Lighting’s ability to provide reliable and accurate packaging forecasts in line with customer requirements.
Andy Paget, Chief Operating Officer at NVC Lighting, said: “As a company, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our environmental efficiency and have identified packaging as an area to focus on.
“We reached out to Springpack to inquire about our warehouse consumables needs and were really impressed with the results from a cost and innovation perspective.
“From an environmental perspective, we have moved to using eco-friendly bubble wrap, airbags and closed document wallets, all of which help achieve our broader sustainability goals.”
“We are delighted to be working with NVC Lighting, helping the team reduce their use of plastic and fulfill customer orders in a timely, efficient and sustainable way,” said James Yorke, Managing Director of Springpack.
