Another hydrogen failure as Hevia struggles to stay

The French hydrogen company has been given a residence in implementation. The commercial court in Versailles Hayvia gave an additional few weeks to obtain insolvency procedures and find the buyer – but frankly, it does not look good.

Hyvia began life as a joint project between the French car maker Renault and American Company Power in 2021, but like anyone who has more than one knowledge of the deep social media about the shortcomings of hydrogen as it is already known: it is impossible for hydrogen to compete with Bevs.

However, the facts surrounding hydrogen fuel cells are the type of lessons that people insist on learning in the high way that the costs (and carbon emissions) of hydrogen remain in an impractical way that is not practical for all the most specialized use cases.

Thanks to this, it seems that Renault has learned these expensive lessons about hydrogen well – and learned a lot about hydrogen to the point that they are committed to a full set of battery connection trucks. The size of the new Carmaker trucks from something like MPV/Minivan on a square car and something like one of the Amazon connectivity truck designed by Rivian called Estafette E-Tech (below, medium).

But this article is not related to Renault’s EVS, it is related to the hydrogen-powered Hyvia brand-and Hyvia does not seem long for this world. This difficult fact becomes more clear when you read the company’s statement about this, which is almost completely free of self -awareness and full of external blame:

For three years, Hyvia, one of the first companies to invested and innovation in the movement of hydrogen, has developed an offer, in a market unfortunately still absent.

The very slow development of the ecosystems of hydrogen mobility in Europe and the very important development costs of the innovation of H2 led to this decision.

Hevia

When I first wrote about Hyzon, I retracted the shores of Australia, I noticed something interesting: Bev’s commercial sales in Australia were prosperous. The same applies in the United States as well, where COX Automotive 1 in every 4 new cars that have been sold this year expects to be fully electric.

It seems that the market may occur, then – and the loss of hydrogen.
