The 10 best states for the green building in 2024

Again this year, Massachusetts topped the annual arrangement of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for states that showed the greatest commitment to the issuance of LEED certificate and sustainable societies. The USGBC classification depends on the total approved field of LeED over the past year. In 2024, the 10 best states charged 1,437 LEED projects equivalent to more than 414 million square feet total.

According to a recent press release of USGBC, Massachusetts rose two sites from 2023 to reach the first place in 2024. Texas and Nevada return to the list after not put it in 2023 (Texas ranked ninth in 2022, and Nivada put last time in 2021). Maryland has advanced the largest leap in the ranking, climbing five sites and published a 61 % increase in the number of projects.

The LeED classification system is the widely used green construction program, and has been created by USGBC as a leadership standard that defines best practices for high -performance healthy green buildings.
