Ammar was driving his Atto 3 as Uber over the past 22 months. During that time, put more than 150,000 km (93,000 miles) on the distance meter. It leads mainly around Gold Coast (Queensland) and sometimes in northern New South Wales. Tell me that traffic is getting worse everywhere, but it does not mind driving in it. “I recently noticed that more Uber drivers were turning into the electric cars for the battery, as it chooses many Tesla, BYD, Polestar and MG.”

It has paid a lot in the past two years, as I did in Tesla Model 3 more than 5 years ago. Since the battery electric cars achieve these high miles, they put in bed (the wrong information that inspires fear, uncertainty, and suspicion) that the electrical driving headquarters do not last as long as these fossil fuels. Ammar agreed to conduct interviews with his experience. Therefore, the usual questions asked him:

Have you faced any problems while being EV?

I did not face any problems with the car. I mainly charge at home, which is enough to lead me on weekdays. However, on weekends, when I work from 10 to 12 hours, I need to stop for 20-30 minutes to add another 100 km of the range, most of them in shopping centers and gardens. There is only one charger at the Gold Coast Airport, which is busy most of the time. There are many shipping devices available at Brisbane Airport.

(The situation has changed since I last time I wrote about this here.)

What cars did you use before? Why does electricity go? What is EVS that you thought about?

Before switching to EV, I used Toyota Camry 2015 petrol. I chose electricity mainly due to the high cost of gasoline. EV driving provides me about 60 % compared to gasoline expenses, which is enough to cover my car loans. “Therefore, in the end, it’s a free car,” she mocked. When looking at EVS, I looked at BYD and Tesla Model 3. At the time of purchase, Tesla was $ 70,000, while BYD was $ 53,000. In addition, BYD qualified to get a $ 3,000 discount from the Queensland government, making the price difference larger. The price of Chargefox is 30 cents/kilowatt hours, while the price of Evi is 60 cents. It is difficult to use Chargefox charger because it is always busy.

Can you give us a comparison with Uber driving a gasoline (maintenance, fuel costs, etc.)?

Shipping costs me about $ 700 – $ 800 per quarter, compared to about $ 4,000 on gasoline. Or about 5 USD per 100 km. Service costs range from $ 160 and $ 500 every 20,000 km. Other expenditures, such as cleaning and accessories, differ depending on the driver, but it will be the same as a gasoline.

Aside from the price difference, were there any other reasons for the selection of Atto 3?

I chose the BYD on the other EVS mainly due to the ability to withstand costs, incentives, and interior quality. After the cost, the inner quality BYD has emerged. The smooth and calm ride also confirmed that this is the right choice for me. In general, BYD provides the best balance between the ability to afford costs, comfort and efficiency, which makes it completely appropriate.

Are there any problems with the car?

BYD had to replace the electric lock at one doors because it did not succeed. Replace one of the safety belt sensors that had a problem. Recently, the seat control button collapsed, replacing the entire steering wheel next month, as it is covered under the guarantee.

(It seems that Ammar had a great service from BYD.)

What about the ghost of the battery deterioration?

When I bought the car, the maximum range was 400 km, at a rate of 370 km on average. Now, the range is about 330 km. At my last service (140,000 km), they examined the battery capacity, which was still 92 %. I was told that the deterioration would be less next year.

(For comparison with the healthy battery condition, my Tesla Model 3 led only 150,000 km and suffered from a 5 % degradation. In comparison with another Uber driver, Nathan had pushed Yi Yazin as a opery to more than 340,000 km and only 7 % loss of the range.

How long do you expect to keep Atto 3?

Everything works well so far, so I plan to keep the car until the battery range decreases to less than 250 km or about 60 %. At this point, I may replace the car or even think about replacing the battery, depending on the cost and feasibility.

Can you replace it with another byd?

It is too early to think about replacing it, but when the time comes, I will explore my options. I have reviewed all BYD models, and looks great compared to the other EVS. If I have to replace my car today, I will choose BYD again. However, in the future, I will think about all brands before making a decision.

(With all models in the Australian market available at the present time, I expect Ammar to have a difficult decision.)

I asked if there were comments from the cyclists, hoping to have an entertaining story. But it seems that the BYD has become natural in the leadership of April.

The cyclists are always happy and amazed by the car, especially inside it. The comfortable leather seats, surrounding lighting and spacious design are often completed. The contestants also emphasized that the BYD interior feels more installment and comfort than Tesla Model 3. Many also estimate the calm of the journey and smoothness, making their journey more enjoyable.

What about the rate of changing Uber drivers, from gasoline to electricity?

Although Uber did not publish the exact number of Rideshare drivers who turn to Electric, we have informed that all horseback will be electric within 10-15 years. They will not accept gasoline vehicles on the Uber platform after that.

(According to its website, Uber plans to be “a platform for transporting emissions in Australia by 2040, with 100 % horse riding in zero emissions.” Uber also plans to invest in high -speed charging.)

The electric ride is a great way to the Australian audience, the first is aware of the first time, then surprised, as the electric cars can do for the battery. Well done, Ammar.
