GAC Toyota, the joint venture of the company in China, has announced new alliances with Huawei, Xiaomi and Momenta during the Technology Day event on Thursday.

New partnerships are more than just a new EV technology. GAC Toyota develops a full environmental system that focuses on programs, artificial intelligence, and smart driving as part of its “China R&D 2.0” strategy.

During this event, Gac Toyota unveiled electronic architecture from the next generation, two new platforms of power vehicles (NEV), and three hybrid systems.

One platform, intended for fully electric cars, will include medium -sized models. The recently launched BZ3X, the most EV in Toyota at 109,800 yuan ($ 15800), depends on the platform. The second platform will support EV, Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and range electric cars.

The elegant BZ7 Electric Sedan from Toyota, which was unveiled last year, will be the first to be launched on the new NEV platform. It is expected to arrive in March 2026.

New partnerships with Xiaomi, Huawei and Momenta will help complete the ecosystem. Toyota is the first alliance of Xiaomi with the global auto industry company.

Starting with BZ7, Toyota will integrate smart Xiaomi devices, such as loudspeakers, tablets and wearable devices, to connect the home and the car.

The electric sedan will also be the first to use Huawei Harmonyos 5.0, providing faster performance in the car. It will be integrated into the car information and entertainment system with a 15.6 screen. Toyota, Huawei and TENCENT are cooperating to develop AI’s next generation audio assistant, which is expected to be launched by 2028.

Toyota already uses the Smart Momenta 5.0 driving system, but its new cars will display the updated Momena 6.0.

Bz3X is upgraded to the new system, adding more than 50 smart driving features. Toyota plans to continue to improve the system, add internal sensors to monitor drivers and adapt in an actual time.

“In 2025, it is a starting point on the new 60th anniversary of China Toyota. We will define products to Chinese wisdom, encourage innovation in Chinese speed, and allow the Chinese market to develop Toyota,” Toyota said in a statement earlier this year.
