Zumtobel's Tective II: Simplified installation meets sustainable design

The new generation of continuous row lighting system provides more than 210 LM/W, its pioneering age in the market and installing up to 70 % faster than competing products.

Zumtobel recently unveiled TecTon II, the second generation of continuous lighting system. Based on the original Tktun – which exceeds 39,000 km (about 24,000 miles) all over the world since 2001 – TecTon II raises the tape in performance, design and sustainability.

Performance and efficiency

TecTon II achieves up to 210 LM/W with high -quality LED lights, excellent color (CRi 80/90) and a uniform light distribution. Industry tests by independent installations showed average installation speeds more than 70 % faster than similar systems, with 100 % peak gains increased. This translates into large time savings and employment costs, and a total cost of ownership during the service age of the system of 100,000 hours in L95.

Ease of installation

The design of real connection and operation really allows installation/clip to be attached quickly-there are no required screws or tools. The entire metric system and Batten ingredients (1.5-4.5 meters long for commercials; 1.0-2.5 meters for pirate lengths, 0.5 meters) simplifying planning and ensuring accurate alignment. The backward compatibility with the current TecTon tracks ensures a future resistant upgrade path.

Design cooperation

Zumtobel has made a partnership with the Italian design studio Pininfarina to improve the aesthetic and functional characteristics of the system.

“In Pininfarina, we found a partner completely completing our strengths. Zumtobel means a deep understanding of the lighting market and many years of experience in developing innovative and aesthetic lighting solutions. Pininfarina contributes to its individual signature, which completely combines technology, functions and design.”

– Alfred Wilder, CEO of Zumtopille Group

“We wanted to create a product characterized by a very easy, clear and simple design with unnecessary curves. The design team has explored the accurate harmony between the shape and the function and ensures that the infrastructure can adapt to different contexts.

– Nicolas Geroti, head of product design, Pininvarina

Sustainability and life cycle

TECTON II was developed under Zumtobel’s circular design rules, using a high percentage of recycled materials and planning to reuse the end of life or recycling. The Environmental Product Advertisement provides CO-transparent and material data. Smart control options and highly efficient operating programs reduce power consumption from installation to turning off.
