While the United States government is trying to force the auto industry to return to the twentieth century, the UK government is pushing forward electricity. She recently confirmed a commitment to gradually getting rid of the sale of new gasoline and diesel cars by 2030, and announced 4.5 billion pounds in financing for a group of programs to support the transition to zero transport.
The Electric Cars Grant Program will allow about 650 million pounds for purchase incentives. Auto industry companies will apply points discounts up to 3,750 pounds on EVS at 45,000 pounds or less.
There is also a set of investments worth 63 million pounds in the EV infrastructure.
The National Health Service (NHS) will benefit from a fund worth 8 million pounds to support the electrification of ambulances and medical fleets in more than 200 NHS sites. More than 1,200 new shipping sockets are installed, which leads to “millions of cost savings over the next two decades of taxpayers for maintenance costs and fuel – valuable savings that can be prioritized for patient care.”
The local infrastructure infrastructure fund (LEVI) (which was established in 2023) supports the local authorities in England for planning and providing infrastructure for shipping to residents without parking outside the street.
The new grant chart will help companies install charging points in fleet warehouses for heavy cargo vehicles, trucks and coaches.

According to GOV.UK, the UK was the largest EV market in Europe last year, and the third largest in the world – more than 382,000 EVS was sold in 2024, an increase of 20 % compared to the previous year.
