Nissan was the first auto industry company to connect an electric car to produce at reasonable prices to the United States market. For 2026, the paper was given a complete plastic surgery from the inside out.

Nissan Cleantechnica invited San Diego, California, to be one of the first people in the world to drive the new Nissan Lev 2026.

Responsibility: Nissan paid the price of the author’s travel and residency to attend this event.

Outside

Outside the gate directly, the light blue Nissan Leaf 2026 shows that it does not try to fit with it. Its new external lines revolve around the air dynamics. The nose has been dismantled by taking a look on the back closed on the elegant network along the way to the top and above the car.

Take it from the side, the design line that sweeps the barrier appears up and above the roof of the car. Along the way, a prominent roof bars pick up the designer of the roof rack attachments. These bars are exclusive to the Plat+ TRIM package.

At the back of the car, the built -in spoiler helps the air hatchback that sweeps the car to separate from the car. The back opening cuts the classic Nissan 300 ZX design with a group of LED reactionary brake lights with a hidden eruption egg.

On both sides, a pair of horizontal lights is accompanied by three vertical lines. Numbers 2 and 3, “NI” (に) and “SAN” (さん) are united in Japanese, to look like the brand name, “NI-SAN” (ニッサン). Translation and characters from the Google courtyard. It is a pleasant design touch that appears all over the new paper.

efficiency

The smooth network, clean lines and integrated spoilers are not only for appearance, they are also major elements in the air dynamics in Leaf. It is clear that the Nissan team puts a lot of work in simplifying the new design, which translates in the real world into coefficients to improve clouds from 0.29 in the Gen-2 paper to 0.26 on the new Nissan Leaf 2026.

Aerobic dynamics is more than just wind tunnel work and bragging rights, as it translates directly into more miles per kiloing hour. The real trick of electric cars is to improve aerodynamics while maintaining an attractive design. The Tier Tier Plat+ Trim has a maximum of 259 miles of 75 kWh battery.

When moving in cutting packages, you can increase the available range from 259 miles in Plat+ to 303 miles of the range for each in the middle of the S+. It is somewhat intuitive that the range decreases in the upper edges, but this is the fact that sexual edges are adding and more tools to the car.

Nissan also plans to offer a 52 kW battery with a future trimming papers with my estimation of 196 miles per fees, although timing and cost has not been completed yet.

Interior

It seems that the interior of the Nissan 2026 paper and feels like something you’ll find it on a more expensive car. Starting with the seat materials, the “Zero Gravity” leather feels luxury and durable at the same time. The lower trees come with a “Zero Gravity” cloth that we have not seen in this event.

After moving beyond the seats, Nissan made a lot of effort to abandon solid plastic materials in favor of the most softened materials, and this appears. This also helps to keep the cabin quieter.

For cold climates, the SV+ TIM package provides hot front seats, while Plat+ TRIM is fully loaded with a hot steering wheel and paid rear rear seats.

Information and entertainment

When you reach the new Nissan Leaf, you receive a pair of 14.3 -inch rectangular screens. One sits behind the steering wheel directly, with the second installed immediately on his right. The resulting appearance is one of a smooth screen that extends most of the impulses. On S+ TIM, the initial offers are slightly smaller at 12.3 ″.

The screen is behind the driver’s steering wheel, with settings that apply directly to the driving experience. This includes all settings, sharing and disengagement of the Nissan’s ProPilot 2.

The screen in the Dash Center is a touch screen that provides control of everything-transport inside the car provided by Google, Music and even broadcast services when the car is stopped.

The new offer and operating system are a big step for Nissan. We found them respondents and happy in our test. Android Auto and Apple Carplay fans are happy to know that it supports both. Nevertheless, in my test, the original navigation experience and Google Maps are still a favorite for the projection feature of Android Auto. All of them, Nissan says.

shipping

For the new 2026 Nissan Leaf, the original NACS port is included on the side barrier of the passengers. (Yay!) With the curiosity, Nissan chose to make this the NACS DC port only, so it will only be useful as a fast shipping port. (Boo!)

With the NACS DC port only on the side of the passenger, all AC should be charged through the AC charging port only J1772 on the side barrier of the driver. The new Nissan Leaf is presented at a time when the public shipping infrastructure is still a hybrid scene with many J1772 chargers of the 2 level, and the general CCS charging, and of course the Tesla Nac Supercharge network.

Nissan wanted to make it easier for buyers to use the AC -charger and Tesla charger, so they chose dual shipping ports on the paper. The implementation of a hybrid design in the car via the devices allows the use of old and new chargers. Although the need for transformers appears to be inevitable.

Including charging standards on different sides of the car will add a layer of frustration to the new EV drivers who definitely understand the difference between DC charging and AC charging. It seems that having to learn and remember the appropriate way to determine different shipments depending on the plug seems to be new EV drivers that do not need a new headache.

This is particularly true when the Tesla AC destination is pushed from the NACS port and many highly highly fast charging devices are still using the CCS standard in North America. The result is a vehicle that contains twice the number of charging outlets such as an ideal EV that still requires transformers for many parking.

It is frustrating, but it is also not difficult to imagine that the paper is developing into a point where only one NACS port contains the driver’s side with the ability to charge using AC or DC. With the trading of old CCS networks and J1772 networks, this will be the desired outlet.

Driving

When leading the new Nissan Leaf, we found it very capable and polite on everything from the city’s streets, to high speeds in highways, to aggressive modes through the country’s backgrounds.

Nissan engineers have worked their charm to really improve the suspension and reduce the roll of the body, because this thing deals like a dream at high speeds. The paper tearing through some of the backly valleys east of Metro San Diego, has proven to be exceptionally capable with almost no roll in the body, even on the most aggressive curves. Thanks to the low battery design and impressive design, it deals better than most sports cars that we have paid regardless of the price point.

This makes it a great choice for people looking for something practical to move during the week, but they are still looking to go out and get their blood on the weekend.

The flipping changes through the four driving modes – ECO, Standard, Sport and personality – the acceleration properties of the car slightly, but still feel that the acceleration is suppressed by the car program.

It will be a lot of fun if Nissan introduces the NISMO version of the new All-Wheel engine, or even just an incomplete version of the front-wheel drive that already enjoy it.

Leave the Regen modes and a little bit of the desired, as with the Nissan electronic step, leaving the accelerator will not lead to a large extent with Regen alone. Likewise, hard braking brings the car to some extent, but the ABS system is kicking early, which leads to worse performance than you expected to be the structure that was tightly contacted like this.

total

Nissan Leaf has always been one of the most affordable electric cars there, and with its update for 2026, it is a screaming deal. Nissan Leaf 2026 currently starts from $ 29,999 for S+, with SV+ at $ 34,230 and Tier Plat+ Trip TIM, largely led us to standards at $ 38,990. All shirts also receive a delivery fee of $ 1,495.

It is scheduled to reach a lot of agents in the fall of 2025, just as Nissan is with Aria from the United States for the year 2026. This does not mean any federal incentives for the paper; Nevertheless, the Leaf Nissan in the S in the future should provide a lower price point for buyers who realize the budget. As today, Nissan Leaf S+ 2026 with 303 miles of the range per fees, $ 29,999 budget.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, but it seems that the new Nissan Leaf seems to be definitely attracting the masses, especially when they start comparing the impressive value equation that it brings to the market.

This is more honest when you take 300+ miles of the range per s+ fee associated with impressive capabilities of the new suspension dynamics and the structure that comes.
