From phone calls to face-to-face meetings: EGiS visits trueCABLE

In the cable and communications industry, most relationships live entirely in the digital world – phone calls, emails, order forms. It works, but there’s something fundamentally different about sitting across the table from the people who use your products every day in the field. when Aegis Technologiesa long-time customer and Nebraska-based installation company, expressed interest in visiting our Kansas City warehouse and new testing facility, and we didn’t hesitate to say yes.

What followed was a day reminding us why we do what we do.

Why is face-to-face still important?

“I truly wish I had the same opportunity with each of our clients,” says Martha, who leads our sales efforts. “Meeting with clients face-to-face brings an exciting new level of connection to the relationship.”

This is correct. When Monty, Sam, Jake, Joel, and Chuck from EGiS walked through our doors, it was less like a business meeting and more like meeting with colleagues who happened to work a few states away. These weren’t just names on orders anymore, they were real people with real challenges, real visions, and real stories about why they started their business in the first place.

“Our customers are at the heart of what we do (and why we do it),” explains Martha. “Their story matters to us and makes us better at what we do. Sometimes a simple conversation turns into a path to the next product or a way to improve an existing product. That’s the beauty of meeting and talking to our customers.”

Tour day: Doors open

The EGiS team – a mix of installers and management, including owner Monte V. Monteleagre and his family members who help run the company – came with three clear goals: to meet our team in person, build the foundation for a long-term relationship, and gain a deeper understanding of our product line.

After initial introductions and lunch, we delved into what they really came to see. Nathan guided them through our warehouse operations, showing them how to manage inventory and fulfill orders. Then came the main event: the newly built testing facility.

For a company that takes quality seriously, the testing laboratory represents our tangible commitment. It’s where theory meets measurement, where marketing claims are validated (or not), and where we can confidently stand behind what we’re selling. The EGiS team spent a lot of time here, asking questions and examining our testing protocols.

Don then led in-depth technical research, with a particular focus on… Standard RJ45 plugs Best practices for termination. For installers who do this work every day, these details are important. A slightly easier termination process or more reliable communication can translate into hours saved across dozens of jobs.

What they saw, what we learned

From EGiS’s point of view, the visit exceeded expectations. In their comments, they highlighted three things that stood out:

Commitment to Quality: “Your attention to manufacturing standards and rigorous product testing has exceeded expectations,” they wrote. The testing facility has resonated so much, that they are considering implementing something similar in their offices.

Dedication to Learning: Our online training and knowledge sharing resources demonstrated what they called a “drive for more industry experience.”

Passion and Culture: Perhaps most importantly, they noted that “demonstrable enthusiasm for your profession gave us confidence in our choice to partner with you.”

Their comments continued: “It was a great opportunity to look ‘under the hood’ of the vendor and see a small company that is confident, passionate and committed to the industry.” “It reminded us of who we are, and makes us excited to continue supporting you.”

But that’s the thing about these visits: the learning goes both ways.

From our perspective, getting unfiltered feedback from field installers is invaluable. They validated things We really believe in our products— We particularly praise how easy it is to pull some of our cables and how well they perform during installation. They loved it EZ Termination Tool He suggested that a replaceable tool head would be better. These are insights you can’t get from a phone call or email.

Validation is what matters

For Dave on our technical team, the visit provided something intangible but crucial: “The big takeaway was a personal feeling… like everything we do as a company really shows up in the field and the feedback we get from them validates who we are, what we do and the products we sell.”

Ben echoed this sentiment: “We gave them the perspective and perspective that we invest a lot in our products and our customers. They saw that we perform performance tests, evaluate quality, and stand behind what we sell.”

This type of verification is important. In an industry where anyone can make claims about quality or performance, having field professionals stake their reputation on every job ensuring that your products deliver results is true credibility.

“It was refreshing to see your team open to suggestions from those of us who use your products in the field,” the EGiS team wrote. “A lot of companies in this space may feel anonymous, but with trueCABLE we felt truly heard.”

Looking forward

The visit concluded with both teams energized on next steps. We are planning ongoing training opportunities, including a reciprocal visit to the EGiS facility in Nebraska. We are also proud to recommend EGiS as a trusted local installation company to anyone in their area who needs reliable, knowledgeable professionals.

As EGiS said in its comments: “EGiS has become even more successful because of our partnership with trueCABLE. EGiS is proud to use trueCABLE products because of its commitment to quality, learning, and listening to the people who depend on them every day.”

For us, this is the ultimate measure of success – not just making a sale, but making a sale Building relationships with professionals whose business depends on the quality and reliability of what we offer.
