Kevin Bailey: Just hide it behind the refrigerator and no one will notice! This was discovered in a recent inspection…

Often, when some form of modification work is carried out to an electrical installation, in this case a kitchen upgrade, the existing electrical accessories are not in the correct positions for the new appliances.

There are different ways to connect conductors, and unfortunately covering the conductor blocks with insulating tape and then plastering them over, is not one of them.

There is a lack of support or corrosion protection for the cables including the location of hidden cables where they are no longer in designated areas due to the removal of accessories.

Therefore, the classification code would be C2, and potentially serious and urgent remedial action is required due to the poor finish.
