We read last week that the company that produces the JuiceBox charger will no longer sell it in the US and Canadian market. Let’s go over what we’ve learned, and what our current JuiceBox EV charging customers should do because of this big decision the company made.
What happens with the JuiceBox EV charger?
Electric vehicle charging company Enel The option to withdraw from the US and Canada was mainly due to rising interest rates, which increased the cost on the infrastructure side of the company.
Enel , and told existing customers that they could still use their software for an additional extended period of time, but they would not have customer service. Note: JuiceBox EV charging customers will still be able to charge their electric vehicles; However, soon they won’t be able to use the software that allows you to do all the “smart” things like start and stop charging from your smartphone, schedule charging sessions, and monitor charging on the app.
What should I do if I own a JuiceBox EV charger?
From an electrician’s point of view, it is recommended to replace the JuiceBox EV chargers with a different brand if the main selling point of your car charger is the smart software to control the charging from your smartphone. As of now, JuiceBox customer will not be able to do “smart” things with the charger like scheduling charging times, monitoring charging, starting and stopping charging via smartphone/smart device. Also keep this in mind when considering replacing the JuiceBox with something else: There won’t be any customer service to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
