Massachusetts launches a two -year -old pilot program

Massachusetts launches the first experimental program of its kind at the state level (V2X). This two -year initiative, with the support of the Massachusetts Energy Center (Masscec), aims to deploy 100 dual -direction to homes, school buses and participants in the municipal and commercial fleet throughout the state.

These two -way charging will enable EVS to operate as mobile energy storage units, combating a capacity of 1.5 megawatts of a new storage capacity. This means that EVS will not only get energy – they will return to the network, which helps to balance the demand and support the use of renewable energy. The program also focuses on ensuring access to low -income and deprived communities to this advanced technology.

The Massachusetts Pilot is one of the largest V2X V2X initiatives in the United States and is designed to face the main challenges in spreading two -way charging technology. By placing these chargers strategically in a variety of settings, the program aims to define barriers that prevent the adoption of V2X technology and its solution.

Massachusetts owners and fleet operators registered in the program will get two -way charger capabilities that are capable of operations from vehicles to the network (V2G) and backup energy operations without any cost. Here is what they earn:

Cost infrastructure: dual -direction charging stations are covered and fully installed for the participants. Network flexibility: With an estimated 1.5 megawatts of flexible and distributed assets, the energy infrastructure program enhances the Massachusetts. Clean energy integration: V2G EVS technology allows it to be charged when renewable energy is available and the stored energy is drained when it is not, supports clean energy goals in the state. Backup power: EV batteries can be used as reserve energy sources during power outages. Revenue opportunities: Some participants can earn money by sending the stored energy to the network.

Clean Energy Solutions Innovations and Company Beautiful Tech Company The Mobility House leads the implementation of the program. “Through the shipping infrastructure provided through this program, we cancel the financial barriers and enable educational areas, homeowners and fleets to reach a reliable reserve force,” said Kelly Hilvrich of resource innovations. “We aim to create a developed scheme for V2X programs in the country.”

“Benefits of two -way charging by providing opportunities for backup and revenue opportunities while strengthening the network for the entire community,” added Russell Vare.

The program is open to register now until June 2025. For more details, please visit the Masscec V2X website. A list of qualified two -way vehicles can be found on that page.
