Cablebs witnesses the first Docsis 3.1+ with four Offdm channels

Cablebs is pleased to announce the certificate of the Docsis 3.1 Plus (Docsis 3.+) device that supports four orthogonal frequency channels (OFDM). The accredited device, developed by Vantiva, is a major milestone in progressing wide range of performance and cable operators’ ability all over the world.

Docsis 3.1 specifications require at least two OffDM support but always included the option to support more; Until recently, available technology solutions have not supported that additional ability. Devices that are identified as Docsis 3.1+ are adopted to be compatible with the current DOCSIS 3.1 specifications with additional Offm channels, which expands the modem capabilities with increased power productivity (up to 8-9 GB per second).

By increasing the number of Offdm channels from two to four, the newly approved device is largely enhanced by the potential domain width, which improves the user experience and opening new service opportunities without expensive plant promotions.

This achievement by Vantiva highlights the continuation of innovation in the bold ecosystems and pave the way for operators to start providing more speeds and ability to their customers.

Why the testimony is very important

This certificate shows both technology preparedness and increased momentum towards a more effective and effective network solutions before the full publication of Docsis 4.0.

Although Docsis 3.1 specifications have been published for several years, the certificate is still a very important part of maintaining a reliable and operating environmental system. The devices provided to Cablebs often face problems while testing certificates that require extensive changes in exploring and repairing errors and fixed program changes before granting the certificate. This greatly reduces the amount of test to be taken by operators before publishing, and speeding up the publication. Therefore, operators depend on the devices that have been tested and adopted properly in Cablelabs.

Continue the march striker

In the past years, Docsis has advanced steadily, driven by a strong ecosystem for members and sellers who cooperate with Cablebs.

Technology development

Each generation of technology – from Docsis 1.0 to 3.0 and 3.1 to 4.0 – enabled operators to provide higher speeds, increase capacity, decreased cumin and more powerful security. This momentum continues with the continuation of Cablebs in determining the future of Docsis networks and how this development is suitable for our broader strategy for member operators.
