Robert “Bob” Labonte, 81, died from Linfield on Monday, June 30 at his home in Linfield, Massachusetts.

He was born at Bon Sekors Hospital on July 29, 1943, and the son of the late Clarings, Margaret Big (Murphy) Labontity and Ellen Hoyet Labontilde from Linfield.

Bob graduated from Lawrence High School in 1962. While he was in high school, Bob was a great love for sports. It was the treatment of the football team and shot a track in the path. He remained from the solid Patriot fan to the end.

Bob joined the National Guard in 1965 and was a sergeant in the maintenance battalion where he was able to use his mechanical talents and his interest in vehicles that work on large equipment.

Pob was not diagnosed with dyslexia even after high school. Despite his educational challenges, Bob persuaded and continued the training to become a licensed commercial electricity and achieved major electrical licenses in Massachusetts and New Hampsheer. Bob was proud of his dual -number license number.

Bob started with Capitol Electric and then in 1970, he opened his work, RM Labonté Electric Co, who is working to this day under the supervision of his friend and teacher, the current owner Douglas Dukens. Bob was incredibly proud of his former employee Dave and John, who continued to have wiring inspectors in Massachusetts after their time to work with Labonté Electric as young electricians.

Bob was truly proud of his mechanical ability, and his hobbies also offered this talent. It was part of the local car racing team, and a NASCAR fan. Share a name with a NASCAR driver who provided years of Tchotchke gifts from family and friends.

Bob was constantly working on his homes in Linfeld and for a while in Nankukte, Massachusetts. He liked to take road trips to the markets used throughout New England in search of parts of his antique cars (’36 Ford and ’56 Chevy) or to use things in home projects.

In 2013, he enjoyed a second profession as a bus driver with North Reading Transportation, as he worked with many schools and grades before he retired again in 2022, and he committed his time in tampering with his garage workshop and building devices for his grandchildren.

Bob survived his wife Ellen (Hoyt) Labonte. Margaret’s lover Labonte and her partner Chad Peronto and Donel Anderson from Boston and Sarah (Labonte) Benson and her husband John of Wickfield, Matthew Labonte and his wife Jennifer from Linfield. Bob died by Ibn, R Michael Labonté, JR, and we know that she did not reunite her again. He is the brother of Clarence “Larry” Labonte, Junior and his partner Helen Viets from Lexington. The beloved Baba was of 6 amazing granddaughters Molly, Anna, Grace, Ava, Lily, and Isabelle. Pob also leaves behind many family members, friends, and colleagues.
