Israel reduces its declaration process to strengthen solar installations on the surface in the country, as it is preparing to add 100,000 new systems by 2030.
The National Planning and Building Council agreed to exempt the need to obtain a constructive permit for solar photovoltaic installations from an electrical engineer. Instead, this certificate can be purchased from any licensed electricity that can ensure the system compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks.
Israel recently unveiled a new goal for the photovoltaic solar energy, which is 1.6 GB for housing roofs in the framework of the solar surface program, which is likely to cover 15 % of the country’s roofs in the country (see Israel to add 100,000 new solar systems on the surface by 2030).
The country’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in the country is also preparing to provide an exemption from construction permits for storage facilities for residential buildings, and expand them to small storage facilities. On March 11, 2025, the Council approved an amendment to the planning and construction regulations to exempt the construction permit requirements for storage facilities that amount to 600 kilowatts per hour, which covers an area of up to 5 m 2.
