With PANOS III, Zumtobel remains true to the three tried and tested principles of its award-winning downlight family: best possible light quality, flexibility and energy efficiency.
Thanks to its modular design, this generation is well suited for offices, educational facilities and cultural sites. A variety of sizes, shapes, beam characteristics and acoustic options are available, so there are no limits to the architectural creativity possible with PANOS III. Not only do these downlights blend seamlessly into any interior ambience, they also connect to the building’s digital ecosystem – with built-in daylighting controls and presence detection. Their durability and low lumen value make these bulbs more sustainable.
Zumtobel’s new PANOS III lamp family combines versatility with excellent light quality and sustainability. With its clean design and numerous mounting options, this simple, versatile device blends harmoniously into modern interiors, whether as a statement piece at a reception desk or as a subtle wayfinding aid in a museum. In keeping with the new working principles, new flat and round pendant luminaires bring a homely feel to workplaces. A slim cylindrical pendant solution for functional and architectural lighting tasks completes the PANOS III range.
Maximum versatility with consistent light quality
To cover a wide range of applications, the PANOS III is available in multiple sizes, shapes and LED variants. For maximum design freedom, customers can choose built-in, surface-mounted, surface-mounted or suspended options. Luminaires can be mounted on plastered surfaces or integrated into the track. In combination with TECTON or three-phase tracks, suspended versions can be repositioned in an instant, making them ideal for dynamic new workspaces.
Despite this flexibility, light quality remains reliably constant. PANOS III technology delivers high-quality white light with excellent color rendering (CRI > 90) and luminous efficacy of up to 159 lm/W. Precision molded polycarbonate reflectors, refined using spray technology, direct light exactly where it’s needed. With a mounting depth of only 100 or 120 mm, the PANOS III is a flat downlight with high visual comfort and glare control UGR < 19. A minimum mounting depth of 70 or 75 mm is achieved using PANOS LOW reflectors. Depending on the requirement and room size, all ceiling lights are available in 150mm and 200mm diameter.

Light that looks good
Modern offices must balance collaboration and focus. PANOS III technology supports both: lighting quality displays naturally saturated red tones, while acoustic performance can be enhanced through integration with baffle ceilings. Additionally, Zumtobel offers custom audio fleece covers for the PANOS III. These effectively absorb noise and are available in 19 different colors to suit any decor. Combining acoustics and light in a thin ceiling element reduces materials and installation effort – while improving aesthetics and focus.
Sustainability – more than the sum of its parts
All PANOS III modular elements: drivers, LED panels, reflectors, mounting rings and heat sinks can be replaced without the need for major conversion work, allowing quick upgrades and refurbishments. PANOS III uniquely combines beauty, comfort and sustainability: after 50,000 hours of operation, the maximum reduction in luminous flux reaches only 10% (L90); After 100,000 hours, the maximum can be reduced by 20% (L80).
Sustainability is also supported by D4i-compatible sensor technology built into the light room for demand-oriented, future-proof lighting management. It provides insight into luminaire status, room occupancy, daylight levels, energy consumption and more. Zumtobel’s LightingGO lighting management platform uses this real-time information as a smart cockpit, providing access to all components in the Zumtobel ecosystem: luminaires, sensors and Venetian blinds.
