Kota, Rajasthan – A major fire broke out on Wednesday morning at an electric two-wheeler showroom on 80 Feet Road in Kota, destroying more than 50 electric bikes and motorcycles.
Officials believed that the fire started due to an electrical short.
The fire broke out on the ground floor of the two-story building, where dozens of electric vehicles were parked for display and maintenance.
Four fire engines from nearby stations arrived at the scene and took more than an hour to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Pictures showed firefighters battling thick smoke while local residents helped pull out partially burned vehicles in an attempt to minimize losses.
Despite the efforts made, the majority of the electric cars inside the showroom were completely charred.

There were several people in the upstairs gym when the fire broke out, but they were all safely evacuated.
Officials confirmed that fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
The police registered a case and opened an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Initial reports indicate an electrical short circuit, although a detailed forensic assessment is expected.

Local reports indicate the financial loss could run into the millions, taking into account the number of vehicles destroyed and structural damage to the building.

This incident adds to growing concerns about fire safety in electric vehicle showrooms and workshops, where battery-powered vehicles are stored in large numbers indoors, increasing the risk and severity of such fires.
