<p data-start="167" data-end="612">Electrical apprentices across the country will gain broader access to fire, electrical and life safety codes through a new agreement between the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC). The partnership will make NFPA LiNK, the association&#8217;s digital platform for more than 300 codes and standards — including the National Electrical Code — available across 53 IEC training campuses and affiliated chapters.</p>
<p data-start="614" data-end="1015">With support from American Technical Publishers, IEC&#8217;s training partner, NFPA LiNK will be integrated into IEC&#8217;s content management system and will be offered at no additional cost to the more than 20,000 trainees the organization trains each year. The platform provides real-time code updates, expert feedback, visual aids, and interactive tools aimed at supporting classroom teaching and on-the-job learning.</p>
<p data-start="1017" data-end="1371">The agreement gives trainees and trainers “the tools they need to learn and apply safety knowledge in real-world environments,” said Kyle Spencer, director of NFPA LiNK. The integration enhances the association&#8217;s training programs by bringing current safety information &#8220;directly into the classroom and the field,&#8221; said Amy Biedenharn, executive director of the IEC.</p>
<p data-start="1373" data-end="1602">IEC represents more than 4,100 member companies nationwide. The two organizations said that the cooperation supports ongoing efforts to enhance safety education and prepare the electrical workforce to meet the challenges of the evolving industry.</p>

<p>Electric car maker Ampere, formed by Renault and STMicroelectronics, has announced an agreement starting in 2026 between the two companies on the supply of silicon carbide (SiC) power modules as part of their collaboration on the Powerbox Ampere electric power inverter. </p>
<p>The power box is designed to achieve the best performance-to-size ratio across the Ampere range, and supports both 400V and 800V architectures.</p>
<p>The power box combines three SiC-based power modules, an excitation module – which provides the electrical excitation needed for the motor or generator to control the magnetic field inside the motor – and a cooling core plate designed to dissipate heat from the back side of the power module, simplifying thermal management and the cooling process.</p>
<p>“By working together, we have been able to optimize and secure the supply of key components for our electric motors, to deliver high-performance electric vehicles with greater range and improved charging time. It is in line with Ampere&#8217;s strategy is to master the entire power electronics value chain for its E-Powertrains, leveraging STMicroelectronics&#8217; expertise in power modules.”</p>
