Eligible participants will receive up to $12,000 in grants to lease or purchase a new or used electric vehicle. However, only if they also scrap their old, non-electric vehicle. If the participant does not have a vehicle to scrap, the California Air Resources Board will award up to $7,500. The grant can be used to purchase an electric car, motorcycle, or e-bike. In addition to the $12,000, eligible participants will receive an additional $2,000 to cover charging costs.

The California Air Resources Board says the Clean Driving Assistance Program is intended for low-income Californians and will “significantly benefit communities in parts of the state that do not already have assistance programs.” Imperial County, along the Mexican border just east of San Diego, is the first county to roll out the program.

“California has ambitious goals for carbon neutrality and a clean air future, but achieving those goals is not possible if Californians can’t afford clean transportation options,” said Dr. Steven Cliff, executive director of the California Air Resources Board. “The new Clean Driving Assistance Program provides a much-needed focus on low-income Californians, bringing zero-emission technology and increased transportation options to underserved communities across the state.”

Rally, North Carolina (WTVD) – A new energy discount program was launched in North Carolina on Friday to help save home energy costs.

Energy North Carolina is part of a national initiative to save $ 8.8 billion of federal financing to provide discounts to reduce housing energy costs.

This government program will include more than $ 208 million for discounts funded by the federal government.

According to the North Carolina Environmental Quality, the discounts aim to make it more affordable for homes to install measures to save costs, such as heat pumps, electric panels and insulation.

“The efficiency of residential energy makes homes healthier and reduces energy costs; supports small companies and local economy; increases energy flexibility and independence in our state.” “The program’s focus on areas with high energy burdens, including rural and disadvantaged societies, will make a difference at the state level, especially in areas that still recover from Hurin Helen and other storms.”

Initially, Energy NC will focus on the individual housing occupied by the owner, especially those in the disadvantaged areas and in areas with stormy effects.

Home energy saving discounts can reach $ 16,000 for qualified family homes. Some electrical appliances can reach $ 14,000 per home, apartment or another accommodation. This includes:
