Gogoro Inc., a leading Taiwanese company in battery swapping systems for sustainable urban mobility solutions, has launched its battery swapping system and Smartscooters in India. The company also launched India’s first made-in-India smart scooter, the CrossOver GX250.

The product was unveiled in December 2023 and is initially available in Delhi and Goa. The company plans to expand its availability to other cities in India in the future.

Gogoro has also launched its own battery swap network in India, which allows users to quickly swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones, providing a convenient and efficient charging solution.

Gogoro Market Expansion Strategy

Gogoro is initially targeting B2B customers in Delhi and Goa, and is looking to expand to Mumbai and Pune in the first half of 2024. The company plans to launch its services to consumers in the second quarter of 2024.

Additionally, Maharashtra and Gurugram have collaborated on a major project and invested $1.5 billion in manufacturing and deploying smart battery infrastructure in India.

Gogoro CrossOver Redefined Design and Features

Built on an updated all-terrain frame, the CrossOver series prioritizes comfort and versatility, and offers improved storage, ride and customization options.

Gogoro plans to launch three models in India: CrossOver GX250, CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S. While the GX250 is available now, the 50 and S are slated to launch this year.

Gogoro CrossOver GX250 Price in India

The Gogoro CrossOver GX250 is expected to be priced around Rs 1.20 lakh in India (showroom price).

Made in Maharashtra, the CrossOver GX250 is Gogoro’s first smart bike in India. It combines Gogoro’s innovative features with India-specific improvements requested by cyclists.

Improved features for Indian roads

The GX250 features an all-terrain chassis, providing increased strength and stability. With a ground clearance of 176mm, it outperforms the current Gogoro range in terms of height.

Performance and Adaptability

Powered by a 2.5 kW Direct Drive motor, the GX250 reaches a top speed of over 60 km/h and a certified range of 111 km. A robust frame design enhances suspension durability and accommodates heavier loads, with an emphasis on stability and comfort.

Versatile charging capacity

The GX250 offers ample storage space with a versatile 26-point tie-down system. It also offers a passenger ride area and four cargo areas, including a platform-style headlamp, footwell, seat and rear cargo area. The rear seat can be adjusted or removed for additional cargo storage.

Recognition and testimony

The GX250 received India’s ICAT certification in August, while Gogoro received recognition from SIDBI in November, making it the first foreign two-wheeler OEM to receive such recognition.
